I have just replaced the battery as a precaution which means I can try for ages to get it started if necessary now, as the old one was getting a little weak. This has not affected the problems in any way though.

Posted October 29, 2022. My 1.8 59plate has 21mm nuts so am guessing 21mm cone, as surly if it was 18 cone would have smaller nut. The replacement I bought has 22mm nut but says 21mm cone. Going to be fitted soon as they is a decent break in the weather.
